Prague’s Matějská pouť (St. Matthew’s Fair) Calls Forth the Arrival of Spring

19.2.2018 — The Prague Exhibition Grounds in Holešovice (Výstaviště Holešovice) will come to life on the 24th of February with the traditional fair of St. Matthew. Visitors can look forward to more than 115 different entertainment attractions, an accompanying program and, of course, stalls with typical fair fast food. This year's fair will last until April 15 and is again the first event of its kind in Europe.

Pilotů Cinema hosts new Indian film festival

25.2.2020 — A brand-new film festival is coming to Prague. The first annual independent Indian film festival, 'INDIE-INDIA', will take place in the Pilotů Cinema on the 28th and 29th of February.

New entrance to the Botanical Garden in Troja

19.10.2020 — A barrier-free entrance to Prague Botanical Garden was opened in the southern part of St. Claire's Vineyard at the end of September. The garden had been planning to build a new entrance for several years, and their waiting has finally paid off. From now on, visitors can comfortably enter St. Claire's Vineyard directly from Trojská Street, at the intersection between the vineyard walls and Troja Château, where the Kovárna bus stop is conveniently situated.

Na pražském Výstavišti byl zahájen Holiday World

13.2.2004 — PRAHA – Dnes v poledne byl slavnostně zahájen 13. ročník evropského veletrhu Holiday World. Pražský náměstek JUDr. Petr Hulinský, do jehož kompetence oblast výstavnictví a veletržních aktivit na území hlavního města spadá přivítal účastníky veletrhu v Lapidáriu Výstaviště.

24.5.2011 — Hospodaření hlavního města Prahy jako celku (obce i kraje současně) skončilo k 31. 12. 2010 schodkem v celkové výši 2 032 532,83 tis. Kč. Na tomto výsledku se podílí vlastní hlavní město Praha schodkem ve výši 2 209 302,80 tis. Kč a městské části hlavního města Prahy přebytkem v celkové výši 176 769,97 tis. Kč. Schodek byl financován převážně z úspory hospodaření let minulých. Z celkového počtu 57 městských částí hlavního města Prahy skončilo k 31. 12. 2010 přebytkem hospodaření 31 městských částí hlavního města Prahy a 26 městských částí hlavního města Prahy vykazuje schodek.

BĚH PRO PARAPLE 2014 aneb Každá noha dobrá

26.5.2014 — V Letenských sadech v Praze se v neděli 8. června 2014 uskuteční již 15. ročník Běhu pro Paraple s podtitulem Každá noha dobrá. Tradiční běhy veřejnosti, firem a médií na 100 m volným stylem odstartuje zakladatel Centra Paraple Zdeněk Svěrák a další známé osobnosti.

National Gallery exhibits Myslbek’s works depicting human poverty

18.9.2020 — The National Gallery Prague hosts temporary graphic exhibitions in the Fair Trade Palace. One of them is an exhibition of a collection of drawings and prints by Karel Myslbek entitled 'The Silent Drama of Human Poverty', which takes place until the 8th of November. The National Gallery has rich and wide-ranging collection of graphics and drawings from various periods and styles. However, artworks on paper cannot be exhibited for a long time, so drawings and graphics are regularly presented in short-term exhibitions. The current exhibit in the Graphic Cabinet introduces the world of the gloomy but interesting Czech painter, Karel Myslbek.

New drive-in cinema at the Great Strahov Stadium

21.5.2020 — The space near the Great Strahov Stadium is being put to good use, with a brand-new drive-in cinema. With a capacity of 120 cars, it is the largest drive-in cinema in Prague. Apart from film screenings, various cultural events will also take place here during the summer.

International Dance Day to take place online
